Success for Warwickshire Shooters at UK OT Championships

Thanks to Greg Sutton for the following item on the UK OT Championships at Bisley over the Easter Weekend where our own Nadine Freeman, Warwickshire Committee member and County Trap Shooter did herself and the county proud - over to Greg:-

Nadine shot the UK Championship yesterday and today (26/27-03-05) at Bisley. After a traumatic off season for her with the development Squad for OT being discontinued for anyone apart from World Class due to funding cuts. This has forced her to find alternative coaching and additional funds for entries etc.

Boyfriend Greg's NSSA skeet coach Todd Bender kindly offered to see if he could help. Todd and Nadine have spent some time at Garlands Shooting ground fine tuning her technique and ironing out some faults. Todd's coaching seems to have worked very well with Nadine taking second behind Charlotte Kerwood in Ladies, beating notable names such as - Abby Burton, Helen Slack and Michelle Conway.

Nadine also won her class (D) by a clear margin to mark a succesfull beginning to her 2005 season.

Nadine's scores:-

DAY ONE - 18 + 21 + 23 = 62 ex 75 to leave her 2 behind Charlotte at the end of the 1st day.

DAY TWO - 19 + 19 = 100 ex 125 and eight targets behind Charlotte going into the OT single barrell final.

In the final Charlotte scored impressively to increase her lead over Nadine, who was caught by the third placed lady. They then had to go into a nervous sudden death OT single barrell shoot-off and Nadine emerged victorious to claim second spot in the ladies class.

Kudos to Nadine and her skeet coach who can clearly coach OT as well. If she shows this kind of form all season I'm sure she will soon be knocking on that GB team door and worrying some top names.
